Sagarika Bhatta

Chairperson

Sagarika Bhatta is an Environment Science and Management postgraduate from Nepal. She is an environmental preservationist, entrepreneur, researcher and feminist climate leader. She is also the chairperson and founder of Power Shift Nepal and Environmental Research Services and Training Center. She is both a former Climate Tracker 2016 Fellow and a participant in the Asia Climate Leadership Camp 2019. She is also a Korean green grants recipient. She received the Women in Science Award  2020, climate action race to zero award in 2021- for roof farming from the DO community and was a 6th edition nominee for gender-just climate solution award by Gender Consistency of UNFCCC. She is also a climate Ambassador for Max Thaibiso Edkins of world bank group 2022 and UNLEASH Plus 2022 and at UNLEASH plus 2022. She is  the winner of an urban innovation program organised by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, UNDP, and Impact Hub Kathmandu in 2022. In 2022, she was selected as top 20 young women in sustainable development globally by Young Women in development and awarded south asian climate action award 2023 and Asia foundation fellow 2025. 

Sumana Lamichhane

Sumana Lamichhane is a recent graduate with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Dean’s List honoree in Environmental Management from Pokhara University. She serves as a Board of Director (BOD) for Power Shift Nepal (PSN), channeling her passion for climate change and climate science into impactful initiatives. As a climate trainer, Sumana has worked across various sectors, educating and empowering individuals and communities to take meaningful climate action. She is also the Country Representative for the My Zalu Project, an initiative that engages children with environmental education through storybooks.  Her unwavering dedication to climate action, sustainability, and education reflects her commitment to building a more sustainable and equitable future.

Namrata

Namrata Thapa Magar

Namrata Thapa Magar is an avid traveller who holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental management and is currently pursuing a master’s in adventure tourism studies.  She serves as a Board of Director (BOD) for Power Shift Nepal. As an environment and outdoor enthusiast, she has worked on many climate change campaigns, gender, and environmental issues. For the past seven years, she has traveled to many remote regions of Nepal, including the Khumbu, Annapurna, and Langtang areas, as a researcher. These journeys provided first hand insight into the impacts of climate change on both the environment and local communities, with a particular focus on how women are disproportionately affected. She has worked with Powershift Nepal addressing these critical challenges, followed by the Mountain Mandala Institute for outdoor learning. Currently, she serves as a content manager at Alpine Ramble Treks, where they blend their expertise in sustainability and tourism to promote responsible travel and giving back to the communities.

Jandevi Simkhada

Jan Simkhada is an architectural designer from Nepal with a focus on evidence-based and data-driven design. She holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and has extensive experience in the healthcare design industry, specializing in sustainable, human-centric spaces. Early in her career, she collaborated with one of Nepal’s pioneers in rammed earth construction, which sparked her passion for eco-friendly building techniques. Currently, Jan is developing a portfolio of healthcare-focused data projects, blending her expertise in design, technology, and sustainability.

Salonika Neupane

Salonika Neupane is a Social Science graduate from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan. She has been involved in different environmental organizations, campaigns, and research. Salonika is a nature enthusiast and loves nature photography. She serves as Board of Director at Power Shift Nepal.

Salina Shrestha

Programme Coordinator

Salina Shrestha holds a bachelor degree in environmental engineering from Kathmandu University. She is working as a program coordinator at Power Shift Nepal and outreach, documentation, and M&E manager at Environmental Research Services and Training Centre (ERST). She is part of different campaigns in Nepal, like Save Our Wetlands and Hawa Badlau.

Pabita Shahi

Gender and Environment Coordinator

Pabita Shahi is a uplander indigeneous women from Nepal with a  qualification in the sustainable development studies major in gender and social inclusion. She has the  academics driven and  profession carrier in the expertise in gender and environment. The background in gender and environment uplifts her as an gender and environmental coordinator at women lead organization , Power Shift Nepal.

Bidhya Gautam

Communication and Youth Action Leader (YAL) Coordinator

Bidhya Gautam is a passionate agriculture graduate from Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal, and a Youth Action Leader at PowerShift Nepal. With a deep commitment to sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate action, she work to inspire young people to take part in creating a more sustainable future. She believe in the power of youth-led initiatives to address climate change and promote solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Palistha Tuladhar

Sustainable cities coordinator

Palistha is currently studying BSc. in Environment Management from Pokhara University. She is a sustainability advocate, she is an avid fan of the zero-waste sustainable lifestyle, and is a supporter of global climate movements. She loves CITIES, urban planning and development are major areas of interest for her. She is currently coordinating activities related to sustainable cities and communities in PSN.
