Our Projects
1. I am powershifter 2014
It created transformational leadership in climate justice to 100 youths in Nepal, and indirectly warring thousands of youth and children.
2. I am powershifter 2015
It empowered young womens to take action in the field of climate change and cross cutting issues.
3. Change workshop 2016-2017
Change workshop basically reached more than 30 schools in Kathmandu valley to educate children in climate action and other environmental issues. It empowered girls and women groups as well.
4. YOU.COM 2016-2018
Youth and communities within the recycling of matters, EVS, European volunteer service of Erasmus Plus program. Local partner : TUDE
5. Rise for climate 2018
Project empowered 15 girls and carried out workshops in colleges and schools.
6. ETI project - 2018
7 months training was given to 15 women of chhaling Bhaktapur on regenerative agriculture. partner : TUDE and Tulime
7. Fossil fuel financing 2019
Trained 15 young girls and 5 males regarding fossil fuel financing.
8. Urban Space project 2021
In partnership with MSF SARA, small earth Nepal, and other organizations working in government schools and women groups of urban space. ( ongoing )

11. Womennifesto (2021-2023): Pariwartankari Mahila Sashaktikaran- Ensuring Environmental and Health Rights
Since the early 2000, Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) has worked to build women’s capacity to increase women’s representation and transformative leadership in political and policy building processes. In 2018, based on the critical reflection of the state of women’s political participation and leadership, APWLD decided to adopt a new strategy called ‘Womanifesto’. Womanifesto–women’s agenda for change–in Nepal, Powershift is working with waste management sector women at grassroots in capacity building, engaging them to ensure their environmental and health rights.
12. Strengthening Feminist Movement (2022): SRHR and Climate Change
The short term project is granted by Women Fund Asia to capacity build young females in SRHS and climate change in Province 3 of Nepal. Starting Jan 2022.
13.Shift The Energy - 2023 onwards
Shift the Energy program focuses on sustainable energy transition and management to create safe, green cities, which studies the possibility of targeted business houses, cooperation, schools and colleges, offices (governmental and non-governmental) to switch their mode of transportation to more sustainable options. For the piloting of the program, Pick and Drop Pvt. Ltd. which is one of the fastest growing courier and logistics delivery companies has signed the agreement with Power Shift Nepal in 2023. It is currently in the pre-assessment phase and the next step will be the workshop on climate change and energy transitioning to the riders and the staff of the company.
14. National membership and network on gender and climate justice- 2023 onwards
Power Shift Nepal aims to create a multi-level network of different CBOs, NGOs and individuals in all seven provinces of Nepal where we network, aware and build capacity of these stakeholders in areas of climate change and climate action.
15. Cycling and walking - 2022-2023
The long term project has been conducted in different phases. The first phase deals with the assessment of people’s perception of cycling and walking in Kathmandu Valley. We could identify certain barriers like road safety concerns, inadequate infrastructure, and cultural barriers that discourage public participation. The second phase helps us understand the perspectives of women cyclists to identify the gender gap and hidden barriers faced by women while walking and cycling so we can identify and target the issue of inclusive mobility in the valley
16. Capacity building women in energy, climate finance and gender -2023
Under the Program Climate and Energy, Power Shift Nepal organizes a series of training on Climate Finance, Energy and Gender which mostly targets the urban working womens, political womens, marginalized womens and housewives. The training plays a significant role in highlighting the urgency for women to understand and amplify their voices and right for climate injustices, advocate on gender responsive climate finance and energy policies.
